Equine Advice


Gypsy, the Equine Encyclopedia, has something to say about how much of his body weight a horse can carry on his back.  Like all shetlands, she is always watching, listening and learning.

The answer is 20%.  This means that an 11.3 hand shetland pony can carry at maximum 120 pounds.  Horses can pull a lot more than they can carry.
