This is a drawing/painting of my rooster Tick-Tock, made in PhotoShop. I miss him a lot. Unfinished (especially the background).
I found this on Katie’s blog, and thought it was really funny. All the recipes are almost 90% hamburger (yuck)!
I realize I have not posted any recipes. Since many of my friends are on the paleo diet, I decided to experiment and come up with some paleo recipes for the holidays. I am a vegetarian, so I didn’t actually eat any of these. That might explain why I am still alive.
Paleo Recipes (Don’t try this at home):
Note: if you are vegetarian, you can substitute soy bacon and veggie crumbles for the hamburger. You can use Earth Balance instead of mastadon lard.
Paleo chocolate chunk cookies
1 lb hamburger (grass fed)
2 cups chopped hazelnuts
1 package paleo chocolate chips (check for rocks)
1 tsp stone-ground baking soda
Heat oven or campfire to 375 degrees. Stir ingredients together and form into patties. Flip once. When no longer pink inside, they should be safe to eat. But I wouldn’t recommend it.
Paleo Bacon Birthday cake

I’m going to make another drawing today, this time of Katie, a cute and furry Miniature Horse mare from The Katie Chronicles (The Katie Chronicles link). < I know the name on the URL looks kind of weird, but it’s actually just the name of a Miniature Horse. The name of my web page also doesn’t match its title (Hooves and Claws). I wasn’t sure what I wanted to call the blog when I made it, so I chose “hensandhippology.” It’s a mix of several words: “hens” because I love chickens and own a bunch of hens, “and,” and “hippology,” which is just a technical name for “study of the horse” because I like learning horse facts!” Anyways, watch for a drawing inspired by Katie later today!
Too tired to draw another horse today. So this is a picture of a blooming pear tree from last spring, with a blanket of flower petals covering the grass. It was quite magnificent last spring, but has not bloomed yet this year (since it’s not April yet).
